A couple years ago, I had a Michael's 50% off coupon burning a hole in my pocket. So, I purchased a set of Distress Crayons. I brought them home, and without any research set about to make a design. It was a disaster. The crayons went into a drawer never to be used again. At least that's what I thought.
When I saw this week's Freshly Made Sketches design, I knew I wanted to use my Hero Arts koi stamp, but I needed to decide on the background. I pulled out my Distress Crayons and did a little Googling to determine the best way to use them. I happened upon a video where Gesso was recommended. Well that did the trick. The color goes down beautifully and spreads so well when water is applied. The Stampin Up sentiment added perfectly to the tranquility of the design.
