50-50 Grind

I wish there were little girls in our family.  If it weren't for my girlfriends and female adult relatives, I would never get to make cards with flowers, bows, and other frilly things.  I have an adult son.  My sister has one adult daughter and one adult son, my sister-in-law has two adult sons, and one of them has four little boys.  If people think making cards for adult males is hard, I find making cards for preteen boys more challenging.

For one of my great nephew's birthdays, I found this silhouette on Cricut.  I cut it in black and placed it atop a piece of white card stock embossed with a Sizzix/Tim Holtz Alterations embossing folder.  I glued together scrap paper from previous projects and cut the triangle to make a ramp.  I glued all of it atop a craft paper card base.  That's it - not one embellishment.  😄

Cricut no longer has this design.  But I checked today, and they still have some great skateboarding designs that would make wonderful cards for boys.

Thanks for visiting my bog.  I'd love it if you left a comment.

Stay safe and happy crafting.

Saddle Up!

As my profile indicates, I'm a Texas transplant.  Even though I'm not from here, I love everything about my adopted home - the food, the weather, the people, and the clothes.  Rodeo has come and gone, but boots are always appropriate attire.  This week's Freshly Made Sketches design offered the perfect opportunity for me to dig out my Taylored Expressions boots stamp and create the perfect pick-me-up card.  I hope you enjoy it.

Thank you for visiting my blog and stay safe.

Comforting Words

I awoke this morning to sad news. The father of a friend succumbed to the Coronavirus. I cannot imagine the sense of loss felt during this pandemic, but I can try to provide some comforting words.

This card was made with Stampin Up Timeless Tulip stamps and the coordinating punch. The sequins are also from Stampin Up. The Inks are from Stampin Up and Momento, and the paper is from my stash.

I hope you like the card; your comments are welcome. Thank you for viewing my post and stay safe.

Perk Up Your Day

Today's post is for Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #429.

Who doesn't love a good cup of coffee and donut in the morning or afternoon or evening or right before bed. It's hard for me to pass up that Krispy Kreme "Hot" sign.  Anyway, I digress.😀

I made this card using Sizzix Thinlit dies - a great Tuesday Morning find - (the donuts) and an Endless Creations die (the to-go cup and the sentiment).  The coffee beans are from Doddlebug Design Inc. ("Latte Love").  I used a small punch for the heart on the cup, and my Wink of Stella clear glitter brush always comes in handy for adding glitter.  All the paper is from my stash.

I hope my card inspires you to get a cup of your favorite coffee (or tea).  Please stay safe.

Spring Fling Challenge

Gina K. Designs  is sponsoring a Spring Fling Challenge. I treated myself to a Gina K. Wreath builder template and Wreath Builder Bundle stamp set last month (a Coronavirus purchase). I used it to create this wreath on white card stock. I fussy cut the outer edge of the wreath and used a small circle die to cut the inner edge. Using my Misti, I stamped individual flowers and glued them to the inner edge of the wreath using Gina K connect glue on every other flower. I used a foam square on the other flowers to give them dimension. I finished off the card with a sentiment from the Wreath Builder Bundle, and I embossed the  3.75 X 5 card panel with a Darice basketweave embossing folder to add additional dimension.

P.S. This is my first post. I’d love guidance on how I can make it better.
